I reunited with my family after almost two years and what a joy it was to hug them tightly again! The past few weeks I’ve been mostly absent as I am knee-deep in exam preparation. Soon it’ll be over and I’ll have the last few weeks of July to get ready for summer school and begin research for my term papers.
The semester is progressing fast and my mind is scrambled. Yesterday I was stuck on a train for hours that could go neither forward nor back. I sat in the heat with a person I’d assumed for years I will never speak to again. The conversation was pleasant and vulnerable, but nothing they said could phase me anymore. What an exhilarating experience to see your own growth.

What a wonderful Monday spent reading, listening to lectures about literature, and hiking with the dog. Slowly a new normal is arriving. She is unpacking her bags to stay for a while - at least until the summer break starts and I travel around Europe.
